Softball Recap: East Palestine Wins Going Away Against Leetonia

After only two runs in their last match, East Palestine made sure to put some runs up on the board against Leetonia on Monday. The Bulldogs were the clear victors by a 13-1 margin over the Bears. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by six runs or more this season.

Kennedy Andre made a big impact no matter where she played. She tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs and one double.

In other batting news, Cami Kridler was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. Taylor Foster was another key player, getting on base in two of her three plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

East Palestine always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .533. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

East Palestine's record is now 7-8. As for Leetonia, they dropped their record down to 0-14 with the loss, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: East Palestine beat the Bears by a score of 16-6 on Wednesday.
