It was a good run, but Oakcrest unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of the Mainland Regional Mustangs by a score of 3-2. The game marked the Falcons' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Oakcrest's loss dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Mainland Regional, with the victory, they broke their six-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Oakcrest will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Wildwood Catholic at 4:00 p.m. on the 29th. As for Mainland Regional, they will take on St. Joseph at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wildcats' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Mustangs' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
