Preview: Madill Wildcats vs. Marietta Indians

Madill is 9-1 against the Indians since February of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Madill Wildcats will look to defend their home court against the Marietta Indians at 8:00 p.m. Madill will be looking to keep their 21-game home win streak (dating back to last season) alive.

Madill only won by three when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 30-point they dealt the Comets on Tuesday. Madill simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Comets 68-38 on the road. With Madill ahead 38-16 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Madill had a senior duo take command as Ethan Wilkerson dropped a double-double on 25 points and 15 rebounds and Brylan James scored 20 points along with six assists and two steals. Jd Runyan was another key contributor, scoring four points along with 11 rebounds and three blocks.

Meanwhile, Marietta's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They took a 53-38 bruising from Sulphur. Marietta has struggled against the Bulldogs recently, as their game on Tuesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Despite the defeat, Marietta saw an underclassman step up: Aedan Ellison scored 19 points. Another player making a difference was Brian Sanchez, who scored four points along with five rebounds.

Madill's win bumped their record up to 18-1. As for Marietta, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season.

Everything came up roses for Madill against the Indians when the teams last played back in February of 2023 as the squad secured a 50-18 victory. Does Madill have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Indians turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
