Baseball Recap: Mount View Finds Playoff Glory Versus Sumner

It's playoff time, and Mount View had no trouble coming through when it counted. They blew past the Sumner Tigers 11-1 on Tuesday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Mustangs considering their two-run performance the match before.

Kaden Bradeen made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Mount View let Abel Grassi and Stuart Knowlton run wild. Grassi got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs, while Knowlton got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs. With that strong performance, Knowlton is now averaging an impressive 1.1 stolen bases per game. Dominic Nash also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Mount View's win bumped their record up to 10-6. As for Sumner, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season.
