Softball Recap: La Serna Comes Up Short

If La Serna was feeling good fresh off their 11-1 takedown of Whittier last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The La Serna Lancers took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the California Condors on Thursday. The defeat continues a trend for the Lancers in their meetings with the Condors: they've now lost five in a row.

Isabela Sanchez made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that she launched this season.

La Serna's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for California, they pushed their record up to 6-5 with the win, which was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season.

Coming up, La Serna will take on Edison in a tournament on Saturday. As for California, they will head out to challenge Esperanza at 3:15 p.m. on Monday. California's pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so Esperanza's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
