Each year since 2006, MaxPreps has recognized outstanding performers in high school football. America's source for high school sports continues the tradition to close out the 2021 season by naming the top player in each state. Selections are based on team success and individual excellence, in addition to local and state accolades.

Victor Rosa of Bristol Central (Bristol) is the 2021 MaxPreps Connecticut High School Football Player of the Year. The 6-0, 193-pound quarterback led the Rams to a 9-2 record and a berth in the Class L playoffs.

The UConn commit rushed for 2,728 yards and 41 touchdowns. He also had a high game of 409 yards and eight touchdowns. He finished the year with 849 yards passing and eight touchdowns.

Each state's MaxPreps Player of the Year will be considered for inclusion in the MaxPreps All-America Team, which will be released in early January.
