            Basketball Recap: Notre Dame de Sion Storm vs. Olathe West Owls        
        
		
        
        
            Notre Dame de Sion's tournament run continued when they took on Olathe West  on Friday. The Notre Dame de Sion Storm took  a  47-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Olathe West Owls. The Storm have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

 Despite the loss, Notre Dame de Sion still got an impressive performance from   Taelyn Smith, who  went 7 of 10  en route to 20  points and seven  rebounds. That's the most points  Smith has posted since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was  Avery Young, who  posted eight  points and 11  boards.
Notre Dame de Sion's defeat dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Olathe West, they have  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won six of their last seven games,  which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record  this season.
 Notre Dame de Sion will welcome St. Pius X  at 7:30  p.m.  on Monday. St. Pius X has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 2-1 during that stretch of close contests. As for Olathe West, they will venture away from home to  face off against Blue Valley Northwest  at 5:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. The timing isn't great for Blue Valley Northwest: they have been struggling with four straight losses at home, while Olathe West has snatched up seven consecutive wins on the road dating back to last season.
