Softball Recap: Granite Hills Eagles vs. Olympian Eagles

Granite Hills blew Olympian out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Saturday Olympian got their revenge. Granite Hills fell just short of Olympian by a score of 6-4. Granite Hills was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Olympian apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2017.

Taylor Nash put in work while hitting and pitching. She tossed seven innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits. Furthermore, she didn't allow a single walk, the first time she has blanked an opponent since back in February. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Nash wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Kaleigh Baugher, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

Granite Hills has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-13-1 record this season. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the losses came by an average of only two runs. As for Olympian, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-11-1.

Granite Hills wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against El Capitan on the 30th. As for Olympian, they have also already played their next game, a 3-2 loss against University City on the 28th.
