Cliff lost against Magdalena two weeks ago, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Cliff Cowboys/Cowgirls were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 44-43 to the Magdalena Steers. The Cowboys/Cowgirls' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Magdalena's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Elia Cleveland, who posted 11 points and five boards. Cleveland is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last seven games she's played. Another player making a difference was Jorianne Mirabal, who put up 12 points and six rebounds.

Cliff's defeat dropped their record down to 18-4. As for Magdalena, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-6 record this season.

Cliff will face off against Gateway Christian at 6:00 p.m. on March 7th. As for Magdalena, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 40-34 win against Quemado on the 1st.
