            Softball Recap: Whiteoak Wildcats vs. Fairfield Lions        
        
		
        
        
            Whiteoak extended their losing streak  to six  on Friday, dropping their season record down to 2-11 in the process. They came up short against  the Fairfield Lions, falling  10-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup  10-0  back in April.
As for Fairfield, they are  on a roll lately: they've  won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record  this season. Those  wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 11.7 runs over those games.
For Fairfield's part,  not much got past  Rilee Quickle, who gave up just  four  hits and racked up 15 Ks to keep Whiteoak off the board. Quickle has been consistent: she hasn't  tossed less than six  strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.
 At the plate,  the team  relied heavily on  Ally Maynard, who  went 2-for-3 with three  runs and one  stolen base.  Jobey Hattan was another key player,  going 1-for-3 with one  stolen base, one  run,  and one  RBI.
 Coming up, Whiteoak will be taking part in a tournament against Clay  at 5:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. The Panthers' pitching crew has only allowed 2.5  runs per game  this season, so the Wildcats' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Fairfield, they will square off against Manchester at 5:00  p.m.  on Monday. The Lions are on  a  12-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), the Greyhounds  a  three-game streak of away wins, meaning someone's leaving a streak behind.
