Baseball Recap: O'connor's Run of Three Straight Wins Now Over

O'Connor has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging four runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Friday. They fell 12-9 to the Sotomayor WILDCATS. The Panthers' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

O'Connor got a good showing from Ryan Zaiontz, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Zaiontz has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Ryan Mason and James O'Connor stepped up to the plate in a big way. Mason scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4, while O'Connor scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave Mason a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Jayden Contreras, who went 1-for-4 with one home run.

O'Connor's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Sotomayor, their record now sits at 5-3-1.
