Basketball Recap: Altoona Snaps Seven-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Chambersburg, Altoona was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They came out on top against the Middletown Blue Raiders by a score of 58-49. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Mountain Lions' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 430th, while the Blue Raiders are ranked 115th).

Altoona's win ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-6. As for Middletown, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-3.

When Altoona and Middletown next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Altoona will try to stop Cumberland Valley's four-game winning streak when the meet at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Similarly, Middletown will face off against Manheim Township and their three-game winning streak at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
