Columbia piles up the points against Sumrall

Recap: Columbia Wildcats vs. Sumrall Bobcats

The Columbia Wildcats stacked a 14th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They blew past Sumrall, posting a 62-33 victory at home. The win was familiar territory for Columbia who now have eight in a row.

Jakira Brown was her usual excellent self, scoring 25 points. She is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last nine games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Payshunce Sims, who scored 12 points.

Columbia pushed their record up to 16-4 with that win, which was their tenth straight at home. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 25.6 points. As for Sumrall, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-17.

Columbia will head out on the road to square off against Purvis at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Sumrall, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Lawrence County at 6:00 p.m. Lawrence County presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Sumrall in Mississippi (Lawrence County is ranked 129th, while Sumrall is ranked 274th).
