Softball Recap: Lejeune Comes Up Short

Lejeune fell victim to Southside and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Seahawks, falling 12-0. The Devil Pups' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it seven in a row.

Lejeune saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kadence Gordon, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base. Gordon is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played.

Lejeune's loss dropped their record down to 4-10-1. As for Southside, their victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 6-7-1.

Looking ahead, Southside will be playing at home against Greene Central at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Lejeune will be paying especially close attention to the Seahawks' match: after the Seahawks faces off against the Rams, they'll take on Lejeune again at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
