Baseball Recap: Westwood Falls to Leonard in First Game of Season

Westwood kicked off their season on the road on Monday and hit a couple of potholes. They fell just short of the Leonard Lancers by a score of 9-8.

Hector Perez Ortiz was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Looking ahead, Westwood will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Palm Bay at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Leonard, they are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season. they will face off against Lake Worth at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
