Preview: Gardendale Rockets vs. Dallas County Hornets
Having just played yesterday, the Gardendale Rockets will get right back to it and host the Dallas County Hornets at 2:30 p.m. on December 29th. Gardendale has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 432 points over their last six matches.
Even though Chilton County scored an imposing 59 points on Thursday, Gardendale still came out on top. Gardendale took down Chilton County 73-59. Given Gardendale's advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 87th, while Chilton County is ranked 319th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Dallas County was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Thursday as they fell 52-48 to Tarrant. That's two games in a row now that Dallas County has lost by exactly four points.
The losing side was boosted by Joshua Davis III , who dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten rebounds. The contest was his 13th in a row with at least ten points. Coby Carter was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Gardendale has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. As for Dallas County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-8.
