Baseball Recap: Hackberry Has No Trouble Against Singer

Hackberry won the last time they faced Singer and things went their way on Tuesday too. Hackberry blew past Singer 14-6. With that win, the Mustangs brought their scoring average up to 6.8 runs per game.

Jacob Talotta made a big impact no matter where he played. He tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 1-for-5. Hackberry is undefeated when Talotta posts two or more runs, but 0-6 otherwise.

In other batting news, Derek Murphy was a standout: he went 4-for-5 with six RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaston Moore, who scored three runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-5.

Hackberry was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .432. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Hackberry's victory bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Singer, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-10.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hackberry will face off against Elton at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Singer, they will square off against Hackberry at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
