Softball Recap: Portsmouth West Comes Up Short

While it was Portsmouth West who put the first runs on the board on Monday, it was Valley who put up more. The Senators fell just short of the Indians by a score of 7-5. The Senators were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Indians earlier this season, when they won 9-4.

Maleah Whitman and M Bradford did some serious damage despite the final result: Whitman went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double, while Bradford went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That stolen base was Whitman's first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Erica Whisman, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Portsmouth West's defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 9-12. As for Valley, their record is now 8-13.

Looking ahead, Portsmouth West will face off against Circleville at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Valley, they will challenge Minford at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
