California high school football receiving leaders: Alec Kaushal of The Webb Schools tops the list

Arizona commit R.J. Mosley of Pittsburg had big night for Pirates in Week 4 with 257 yards and two TDs.

Among leading receivers in California according to statistics submitted to MaxPreps, University of Arizona commit R.J. Mosley of Pittsburg has fans in Tucson salivating after his performance last week.

Despite a 43-35 loss to Archbishop Riordan (San Francisco), the three-star wideout caught 10 passes for a career-best 257 yards and two scores. It also was the first time Mosley has hauled in double-digit passes in a game in his career.

Mosley has 432 yards receiving this year and another big night could land him in the top 25 of California's yardage leaderboard. Not far behind Mosley is Max Thomas of Los Gatos, who also lit up the stat sheet on Friday with nine catches, 274 yards and four touchdowns in a tight 41-40 loss to Clovis.

The biggest receiving performance of last week came from Alec Kaushal of The Webb Schools (Claremont), who had 12 catches for 287 yards and two scores in a 35-14 win over Loara (Anaheim)



Kaushal vaulted atop the California receiving list among coaches who input stats to MaxPreps with 691 yards, despite playing in three games.

Senior Caden Larsen of Minarets (O'Neals) is second with 634 yards while Blake Wong of Norco with 616 yards, Jameson Powell of Folsom with 592 yards and Ahmir Roots of Del Campo (Fair Oaks) with 589 yards round out the top five.
