Soccer Recap: Northumberland Takes a Loss

Northumberland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 7-1 to the Rappahannock Raiders. While losing is never fun, Northumberland can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 235th, while Rappahannock are ranked 67th).

Northumberland's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Rappahannock, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-1-2.

Coming up, Rappahannock will look to defend their home pitch on May 2 against King & Queen Central at 7:00 p.m. Northumberland will be paying especially close attention to the Raiders' game: after the Raiders face off against Westmoreland, they'll take on Northumberland again at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
