Robertson took a seven-run defeat the last time they faced off against Portales, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Robertson had just enough and edged out Portales 2-1 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Cardinals have posted since May 8, 2024.

Robertson saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kylee Griego, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one double. Emily Baca also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

Robertson's win bumped their record up to 2-6. As for Portales, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-3.
