Softball Recap: Tombstone Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Show Low, Tombstone was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They never let the Pusch Ridge Christian Academy Lions get on the board and left with a 7-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Yellow Jackets, who have now won four matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Liliana Garcia, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Bella Lopez, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Tombstone was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .391 or higher in three consecutive games.

Tombstone's victory bumped their record up to 5-8. As for Pusch Ridge Christian Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-10-1 record this season.

Tombstone has already played their next matchup, a 4-2 win against Benson on the 21st. As for Pusch Ridge Christian Academy, they will face off against Thatcher at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The game will give the Lions their first taste of in-conference action this season.
