Recap: Bishop O'Dowd Dragons vs. San Leandro Pirates
After losing to the San Leandro Pirates the last time they met, the Bishop O'Dowd Dragons decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Bishop O'Dowd simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat San Leandro 81-45 on the road. That looming 81-45 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Bishop O'Dowd yet this season.
Leo Chapman was his usual excellent self, scoring 19 points along with five rebounds and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Tobias Aisien, who scored 14 points along with two steals.
Bishop O'Dowd pushed their record up to 12-6 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.7 points per game. As for San Leandro, they are on a 13-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-14.
Bishop O'Dowd won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against St. Patrick-St. Vincent at 11:30 a.m. on January 20th. St. Patrick-St. Vincent knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 18 contests -- so hopefully Bishop O'Dowd likes a good challenge. As for San Leandro, they will head out on the road to take on Fortune Early College at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Fortune Early College is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 61.3 points per game.
