Basketball Recap: Galt Takes a Loss

Galt extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 23 on Tuesday, dropping them down to 0-4. They had to suffer through a 47-18 loss at the hands of the Calaveras Red Hawks. The Warriors were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 31-7.

Galt's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Abel Romero, who posted five points and seven boards, and Jalen Hall, who put up no points.

As for Calaveras, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 57.0 points this season.

Calaveras' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aaron Koepp, who went 5-for-11 to rack up 15 points and eight rebounds. The contest was Koepp's third in a row with at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Connor Fuller, who shot 42% from the field en route to 10 points along with six boards and three steals.

Coming up, Galt will take on Tracy at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Calaveras, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 63-47 loss against Enochs on the 4th.
