Volleyball Recap: Mira Mesa Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Mira Mesa was the 3-0 winner over Canyon Hills when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Marauders fell 3-1 to the Rattlers on Wednesday. The Marauders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Mira Mesa was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Canyon Hills work for it, especially in the fourth set. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-22, 18-25, 26-24.

Despite the defeat, Mira Mesa saw an underclassman step up: freshman Layna Vanhuang had 14 digs and four assists. Those 14 digs set a new season-high mark for Vanhuang.

Mira Mesa's loss dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Canyon Hills, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 9-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mira Mesa will take on Madison at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Canyon Hills, they will face off against Clairemont at 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
