The Dexter Tigers will challenge the Mattanawcook Lynx at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Dexter is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.7 runs per game this season.
Dexter barely beat Foxcroft Academy the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Tigers were the clear victors by a 15-1 margin over the Ponies on Wednesday. Winning may never get old, but the Tigers sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Kallie Stone made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. Stone was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three runs, two RBI, and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Desiree Adams, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Skylar Gulley, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one run.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Mattanawcook ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They skirted past Central 9-7. The victory continues a trend for the Lynx in their matchups with the Red Devils: they've now won six in a row.
Julianna Cloukey spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered six earned (and one unearned) runs on 11 hits.
On the hitting side, Addison Cyr was incredible, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Carly Spinney was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Dexter's win bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Mattanawcook, their victory bumped their record up to 6-3.
