Volleyball Recap: Lewis & Clark Falls Short Against Ranked Mt. Spokane + How To Watch

Lewis & Clark faced Mt. Spokane in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Tigers fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 3-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

Lewis & Clark was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Mt. Spokane work for it, especially in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 17-25, 25-19, 27-25, 22-25, 15-10.

Despite the defeat, Lewis & Clark had strong showings from McKenzie Kelly, who had ten digs and three aces, and Hailee Biegler, who hit 83.3% for five kills and 35 assists and 12 digs. Biegler has been hot for a while, having posted 14 or more assists the last 23 times she's played.

The loss snapped Lewis & Clark's winning streak at three matches and leaves them with a 6-6 record. As for Mt. Spokane, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lewis & Clark will welcome Coeur d'Alene at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mt. Spokane, they will host Gonzaga Prep at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
