Basketball Recap: Terra Ceia Christian Starts Season with Victory Against Pungo Christian Academy

Terra Ceia Christian had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They snuck past the Pungo Christian Academy Raiders with a 61-56 win on Friday. This was payback for the Knights, who suffered a 70-38 loss the last time these two teams met.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Terra Ceia Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Aidan Persons, who went 10-for-17 en route to 26 points and seven rebounds. Persons has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Seth Meijer was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with nine points and 16 boards.

Looking ahead, Terra Ceia Christian will host Ahoskie Christian at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pungo Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Unity Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
