Volleyball Recap: Imperial Tigers vs. Calexico Bulldogs

Imperial was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They fell 3-1 to the Calexico Bulldogs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 two weeks ago.

Imperial started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 15-25, 25-19, 25-22, 25-15.

Gerardo Diaz was his usual excellent self, getting 19 digs and three aces for Calexico. Diaz has been hot for a while, having posted three or more aces the last ten times he's played. Jose Pablo Reyna was another key player, getting 30 assists.

Imperial's loss dropped their record down to 7-17. As for Calexico, the victory (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 15-3.

Meanwhile, Calexico is set to take on their familiar foe Central at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
