The Sunrise Mountain Miners will head out to challenge the Virgin Valley Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Sunrise Mountain can't be to happy about their upcoming road match considering what happened when they opened their season on the away from home on Friday. They fell just short of Foothill by a score of 2-0.

Meanwhile, Virgin Valley humbled Chaparral with a 45-6 victory. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bulldogs.

Virgin Valley found their leader in underclassman Drew Dixon, who rushed for 213 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 9.3 yards per carry. Dixon was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 50 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Koby Perry, who threw for 93 yards and two touchdowns.

Virgin Valley wouldn't let Chaparral keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force two fumbles. Virgin Valley can thank Oak Bundy and Isaac Johnson for forcing both of them.

Sunrise Mountain suffered a grim 32-6 defeat to Virgin Valley when the teams last played back in September of 2023. Thankfully for Sunrise Mountain, Gunner Cortez (who rushed for 76 yards and three touchdowns, and also threw for 140 yards on nine of 15 attempts) won't be suiting up this time.
