Baseball Recap: Smoky Mountain Falls Short of North Lincoln in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Smoky Mountain can now relate to. They fell 7-2 to the North Lincoln Knights on Tuesday. The Mustangs were not able to make up for their defeat to the Knights from their previous meeting back in May of 2018.

Smoky Mountain has also been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-11 record this season. As for North Lincoln, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 16-8.

Smoky Mountain does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for North Lincoln, they will be playing at home against North Iredell at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Knights 3.2, the Raiders 2.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.
