It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Westside had no problem doing just that on Friday. They blew past the Pickens Blue Flame, posting a 49-21 victory. The Rams might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by 27 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Keylan Powell, who rushed for 200 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 13 carries. He is becoming a predictor of Westside's success: when he posts at least 100 rushing yards the team is 5-1 (and 2-3 when he doesn't). Jae White was in the mix too, providing the Rams with two scores.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Westside was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 331 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 197 rushing yards in four consecutive matchups.

When it comes to explaining why Pickens lost, don't look at Brooks Dow. Despite the final result, he rushed for 36 yards and two TDs, and also threw for 194 yards and one touchdown while completing 80% of his passes. Cam Wilson was another key player, picking up 128 receiving yards and one score.

Westside pushed their record up to 7-4 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 9.3 points on average over those games. As for Pickens, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.

Westside will welcome Wren at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Pickens does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
