After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Pisgah, Pelahatchie was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the Raleigh Lions 4-3. The victory was some much needed relief for the Chiefs as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.

Ava Till spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on 12 hits. She also put up a walk, which was her first of the season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Khloe McLaurin, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Pelahatchie's win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 10-6. As for Raleigh, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-16-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pelahatchie will welcome Newton at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Raleigh, they will be playing at home against West Lincoln at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
