Baseball Game Preview: Holston Cavaliers vs. Chilhowie Warriors

Holston is 2-8 against Chilhowie since June of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Cavaliers will head out to face off against the Warriors at 5:00 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Holston took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They won by a run and slipped past Northwood 8-7. The victory continues a trend for the Cavaliers in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won nine in a row.

Meanwhile, Chilhowie entered their tilt with Rural Retreat on Thursday with six consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with seven. They never let the Indians get on the board and left with a 10-0 win. Give the Warriors' pitching crew some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

Chilhowie's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-3. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Holston, their victory bumped their record up to 3-10.

Holston suffered a grim 14-0 defeat to Chilhowie in their previous meeting back in April. Can the Cavaliers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
