Baseball Game Preview: Lake Fenton Blue Devils vs. Owosso Trojans

For the second straight game, Lake Fenton will face off against Owosso. The Blue Devils will challenge the Trojans at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Lake Fenton has given up an average of 8.9 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

12 must be Lake Fenton's lucky number: they beat Owosso with that score not once but twice on Monday. The Blue Devils beat the Trojans by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 12-11. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Blue Devils.

For Owosso's part, they got a good showing from Jace Norton, who tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Norton has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Eden Ackley made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with four stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times he's played. Another player making a difference was Blake Binger, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.

This is the second loss in a row for Owosso and nudges their season record down to 7-3. Even worse, they were so close both times: the defeats came by an average of only one runs. As for Lake Fenton, their victory bumped their record up to 5-2.
