Basketball Recap: Bob Jones Academy Comes Up Short

Bob Jones Academy played a tough contest on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against the Summit Christian Academy Falcons, falling 76-25. Bob Jones Academy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-8.

Leading Summit Christian Academy to victory were Ella Botts and Bailee Martin. Botts almost dropped a double-double on 30 points and nine assists, while Martin went 10 for 15 en route to 25 points in addition to seven assists and five rebounds. Botts is crushing it when it comes to points: she's scored at least 15 every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Abby Greer, who posted eight points.

This is the second loss in a row for Bob Jones Academy and nudges their season record down to 1-3. As for Summit Christian Academy, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-3.

Bob Jones Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Lake Pointe Academy at 6:30 p.m. on January 31st. As for Summit Christian Academy, they will head out to take on Narrows at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Summit Christian Academy's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six games.
