Baseball Recap: Archie Comes Up Short

Sherwood hit Archie with a six-run fourth inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Whirlwinds took a 12-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Marksmen. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Marksmen this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-4 back in April.

Talan Reynolds and Jackson Kash stepped up to the plate in a big way. Reynolds went 3-for-4 with four RBI and one double, while Kash went 2-for-5 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Cotton Killian, who went 3-for-5 with two runs.

Archie's loss dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Sherwood, they pushed their record up to 11-14 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Archie will head out to square off against Montrose at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Sherwood, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Appleton City at 4:30 p.m.
