Softball Game Preview: Perry-Lecompton Kaws vs. St. Marys Bears

The Perry-Lecompton Kaws will face off against the St. Marys Bears at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Perry-Lecompton is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Kansas' top teams: Sabetha, who was ranked 17th at the time (Perry-Lecompton was ranked 24th). The Kaws came up short against the Bluejays on Thursday, falling 14-4. The Kaws haven't had much luck with the Bluejays recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Perry-Lecompton saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Autumn Flory, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was Flory's first of the season. Another was Meaa Allen, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI.

Meanwhile, St. Marys was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They lost 10-0 to Jefferson West.

Perry-Lecompton's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for St. Marys, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.
