Baseball Recap: Brush Takes a Loss

If Brush was riding high fresh off their 12-2 takedown of Alamosa on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Brush lost 13-2 to the Eaton Reds on Saturday. The Beetdiggers were not able to make up for their loss to the Reds from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Brush saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Landon Mesch, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2. Percy Odle was another, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Brush's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Eaton, the victory (which was their 31st in a row dating back to last season) raised their record to 3-0.

Coming up, Brush will face off against Resurrection Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Brush's pitchers better be ready for this one: Resurrection Christian has averaged an impressive 9.5 runs per game this season. As for Eaton, they have already played their next game, a 24-0 win against Alamosa on the 22nd.
