Recap: Yelm Tornados vs. Sammamish RedHawks

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 71-43, which was the final score in Yelm's's tilt against Sammamish on Thursday. Yelm has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Sammamish found their leader in underclassman Rakin Showki, who scored 23 points. The match was Showki's third in a row with at least ten points. Rayan Showki was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.

Yelm bumped their record down to 2-6 with that loss, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. That rough patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.4 points per game. As for Sammamish, their victory bumped their record up to 7-4.

Yelm will head out on the road to face off against Kentlake at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Kentlake is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. Sammamish and Lindbergh will face off at 8:00 p.m. on January 5th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
