Baseball Recap: Glenn Takes a Loss

Glenn had lost five straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 6-28 to make it six. They came up short against the Garden City Cougars, falling 13-4. The Rockets were not able to make up for their loss to the Cougars from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

As for Garden City, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 24-6. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 16 contests by six runs or more this season.

For Garden City's part, Brandon Lewandowski made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Lewandowski has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.

In other batting news, Ethan Krol and Ethan Armstrong did most of the damage at the plate: Krol went 3-for-4 with four runs, two stolen bases, and two RBI, while Armstrong went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those four runs gave Krol a new career-high. Andre Davis was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Coming up, Glenn will square off against Gabriel Richard at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Garden City, they will head out on the road to take on Chelsea at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
