It was a good run, but Treutlen unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Hawkinsville Red Devils by a score of 74-71. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Vikings have suffered since February 2, 2024.

Nieem Blair was his usual excellent self, going 11 for 16 on his way to 26 points and four steals for Hawkinsville. Blair is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryson Singletary, who went 9 of 16 on his way to 20 points and six rebounds.

Treutlen's loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-6. As for Hawkinsville, they pushed their record up to 8-6 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Treutlen will welcome Jenkins County at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Treutlen's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Hawkinsville, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Macon County at 7:30 p.m.
