Basketball Game Preview: Jonesboro Hurricane vs. Cabot Panthers

Jonesboro hasn't had much luck against Cabot recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Jonesboro Hurricane will venture away from home to face off against the Cabot Panthers at 6:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Jonesboro saw some tournament action last Friday. They were outmatched by Rolla and fell 61-33. While losing is never fun, the Hurricane can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 143rd in Arkansas, while the Bulldogs are ranked 27th in Missouri).

Meanwhile, Cabot came up short against West Side last Saturday and fell 60-51. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Cabot's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-11. As for Jonesboro, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-9.

Jonesboro took a serious blow against Cabot in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, falling 81-37. Can Jonesboro avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
