Baseball Game Preview: Christian Academy-Louisville Centurions vs. North Bullitt Eagles

The Christian Academy-Louisville Centurions will face off against the North Bullitt Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Christian Academy-Louisville 3.9, North Bullitt 3.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Christian Academy-Louisville's usually-dominant pitching crew will be looking to make up for Tuesday's struggle, when South Oldham hitters got past them. The Centurions came up short against the Dragons on Tuesday, falling 16-5. The Centurions haven't had much luck with the Dragons recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Christian Academy-Louisville saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hudson Overstreet, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one run.

Meanwhile, North Bullitt came tearing into Tuesday's matchup with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.6 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Mustangs an 11-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won 18 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

North Bullitt's win was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 24-7. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Christian Academy-Louisville, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-10.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Christian Academy-Louisville has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like North Bullitt struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
