Baseball Recap: Hastings Comes Up Short

Hastings was the 10-7 winner over Thornapple Kellogg when they last played one another on Friday, but their luck changed this time around. The Saxons fell 11-6 to the Trojans on Friday.

Spencer Wilkins was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with four stolen bases and two runs. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jonah Hamp, who went 1-for-3 with two runs.

Hastings has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season. As for Thornapple Kellogg, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-17.

Looking ahead, Hastings will head out to take on Barry County Christian at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Thornapple Kellogg, they will face off against Wyoming at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
