Basketball Recap: Prairie View Takes a Loss

Prairie View was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They were beaten by the Monarch Coyotes 62-10. The Thunderhawks were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 52-8.

They got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of Elizabeth Scaff and Evelyn Ramirez, who each put up four points.

Monarch found their leader in sophomore Sienna Williams, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten boards. Williams is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: she's pulled down at least ten every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Ginger Milot, who went 5 of 7 on her way to 12 points in addition to seven assists and five steals.

Prairie View's defeat dropped their record down to 1-15. As for Monarch, their win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Prairie View will welcome Boulder at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Monarch, they will be playing at home against Northfield at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
