Basketball Recap: East Fairmont Bees vs. Fairmont Senior Polar Bears
East Fairmont lost against Fairmont Senior back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The East Fairmont Bees lost 65-45 to the Fairmont Senior Polar Bears. While losing is never fun, the Bees can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' West Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 65th, while the Polar Bears are ranked 17th).

Despite the loss, East Fairmont saw an underclassman step up: freshman Jaxon Conaway went 5-for-10 en route to 10 points in addition to eight boards and four blocks. Conaway continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Karson Church, who posted five points.
East Fairmont has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last nine contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season. As for Fairmont Senior, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season.
Coming up, East Fairmont will head out to face off against Lincoln at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. East Fairmont is facing Lincoln at the right time seeing as Lincoln is stuck on a ten-game losing streak. As for Fairmont Senior, they will welcome Grafton at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
