Basketball Recap: Chilhowie Takes a Loss

If Chilhowie was riding high fresh off their 52-25 takedown of Castlewood last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Chilhowie Warriors had to suffer through a 66-28 loss at the hands of the Fort Chiswell Pioneers. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 272nd, while the Pioneers are ranked 32nd).

Chilhowie dropped their record down to 2-7 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Fort Chiswell, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.

Chilhowie will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Lebanon at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. As for Fort Chiswell, they will welcome Auburn at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
