Softball Recap: Hopewell-Loudon Has No Trouble Against Lakota

After only two runs in their last matchup, Hopewell-Loudon made sure to put some runs up on the board against Lakota on Wednesday. The Chieftains were the clear victors by a 17-10 margin over the Raiders. Considering the Chieftains have won ten contests by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on AnneMarie Berg, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Karsyn Snyder also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Hopewell-Loudon's win bumped their record up to 12-7. As for Lakota, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hopewell-Loudon will face off against Old Fort at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Lakota, they will square off against Elmwood at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Royals' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so the Raiders' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
