Basketball Recap: Deer Isle-Stonington Comes Up Short

If Deer Isle-Stonington was feeling good fresh off their 59-13 takedown of Searsport last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Deer Isle-Stonington Mariners lost to the Jonesport-Beals Royals on the road by a 50-32 margin on Saturday. The Mariners have struggled against the Royals recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Deer Isle-Stonington's loss dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Jonesport-Beals, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-7 record this season.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Shead the next time they take the court. Jonesport-Beals will head out to face Shead at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Deer Isle-Stonington will host them at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
